\fBxatmas2\fP is a cross\-assembler for modern systems to cross\-assemble
original source code for the Atmas II assembler for the Atari 8\-bit
series, once a popular assembler in the eighties and nineties.

The source code must be in ASCII format, not ATASCII. To convert Atari
text files to ASCII, see \fBa8cat\fP(1), from \fIbw\-atari8\-tools\fP\&.

The output is an Atari "binary load" executable.

With no \fB\-o\fP option, the output file is the source filename with
\fI\&.xex\fP appended.
